Encinitas, Leucadia, Solana Beach, Cardiff, Del Mar, Carlsbad and Oceanside….these are the names of our beautiful North County coastal communities. Known for surf breaks, breakfast burritos and colorful local vibes the locals speak proudly of their ‘hoods.
Running parallel to the Pacific Ocean and the I-5 our northern beach neighborhoods offer true SoCal lifestyle. On every given day you’ll see bicyclists along the 101 Coast Highway, children playing in parks with the ocean as their backdrop and friends strolling the main streets and specialty stores. Family friendly entertainment abounds in North County San Diego. Spend a day at Legoland California and have fun on rides, in the water park and at the SeaLife aquarium. Nearby stroll the brilliant Carlsbad Flower Fields where 50 acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculu flowers cascade the hillside.
Founded in 1888 and having just celebrated it’s 125th anniversary, the City of Oceanside has been a destination for generations. Head to the beach and catch a wave with surfing and stand up paddle boarding (SUP) lessons. Or enjoy the Oceanside harbor by kayaking around or get more adventurous by taking chartered whale watching boat out into the Pacific!
When not at the beach San Diegans love to shop and dine. The Solana Beach Cedros Design District spans only 2 1/2 blocks but houses 85+ one-of-a-kind businesses. From furniture to art to collectibles to dog wear Cedros can keep you entertained for hours.
A short drive up highway 101 and you’ll land at the locally-loved Leucadia beach community. Home to the LeucadiART Walk, Battle of the Bands and the 10-year running Leucadia Farmer’s Market, stroll the 101 and get a feel for how the locals do it. You’ll be glad you did.
