California Wolf Center | Julian, CA
Get up close and personal with the resident wolves of the California Wolf Center. The Center is dedicated to conserving and researching our natural wolf species with a focus on creating healthy ecosystems for the wolves. Packs of North American and Mexican Gray Wolves live at the Center. Public tours are available by reservation and include an educational presentation and a guided observation of two packs of wolves.
Lions, Tigers and Bears | Alpine, CA
The Lions, Tigers, & Bears Sanctuary is a 93-acre refuge dedicated to providing a safe haven to abandoned and abused exotic animals. Over 60 rescued animals, 19 species in total, call the sanctuary home. Animals include lions, tigers, black bears, bobcats and leopards along with domestic animals like horses, llamas and goats. Visitors can take guided tours and explore the historical ranch grounds by appointment.
San Diego Audubon Society | San Diego County
Explore our myriad of bird species and their varied habitats by group or at your leisure. The San Diego Audubon Society hosts over 50 local field trips to our local Creeks, Canyons and Parks every year. Birding Classes for beginners and an annual Bird Festival can also be attended. Explore on your own any day of the week using the Society’s County-wide map of Local Birding Sites.
